Sammi was only 15 when she started to sing. It was during a song contest held by TVB she started. Her family didn't want her to join the contest, but, they didn't strongly oppose it neither. Her mother didn't think that Sammi would really win, so she agreed to let her participate. Surprisingly, Sammi won 3rd prize and got a contract to Capital Artist Sammi had a double-status of a singer and a student at the same time. During the first few years,she postponed singing in order to finish her school studies. After graduating from secondary school, she became a full time singer! Sammi has had hit songs like Chotto Matte and Ding Dong. But, she never really became popular until she joined Warner Music in 1995.
